Awards

Central Agricultural Research Institute has been recognized for it’s out standing research achievements through 14 awards and honours out of them three are ICAR Team research awards in three major disciplines, i.e.-Crop Science, Animal Sciences and Fisheries Sciences and two Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Awards for it’s contribution in tribal areas.

ICAR Team Research Awards

ICAR Team Research Award for multidisciplinary research in Agriculture and allied Sciences for outstanding contribution in the field of Animal Sciences for triennium 1991-1993 awarded to Dr. S.P.S.Ahalawat, Dr.A.K.Bandyopadhyay, Dr.R.B.Rai, and Dr. A.K.Sharma.

ICAR Team Research Award for multidisciplinary research in Agriculture and allied Sciences for outstanding contribution in the field of Crop Sciences for triennium 1991-1993 awarded to Dr.N.D.Majumdar, Dr.A.B.Mandal, Dr.T.Ram, Dr. S.D.Singh and Shri M.M.Ansari.  

ICAR Team Research Award for multidisciplinary research in Agriculture and allied Sciences for outstanding contribution in the field of Fisheries Sciences for triennium 1994-1996 awarded to Dr. N.Sarangi, Shri S.Damroy, Shri R.Soundararajan, Shri K.Dorairaj and Dr. S.Michaelraj.

    Fellowship and Scholarship

Dr. A.B.Mandal awarded INSA Visiting Fellowship at Molecular Biology Laboratory, Department of Botany, Calcutta University for a period of three months (26.10.1994 to 25.01.1995)

International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) Scholarship (Funded by German Society for Technical Co-operation BMZ/GTZ) for attending training course on “Transformation of rice and molecular analysis of transgenic plants” from 15.10.1995 to 14.12.1995 at PBGB Division, IRRI, Los Banos, Philipines.   

Best Annual Report Award - 1998- 1999

The best Annual Report Award for the year 1998-1999 among the small ICAR Institute was awarded to Central Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair by ICAR, New Delhi.
